The Pioneer Fleet Report - June 2023

USS Athena

Commanding Officer: No report submitted

Executive Officer: Sam Haynes

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?Mostly alright. All the DH’s seem to be doing their thing in both main and side sims.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? For the most part. We’ve got some LOA’s and a couple AWOLs. The latter need some addressing, both otherwise things seem to be alright for the moment.

Who is the shining star this month? No answer at this time, except for those that have continued to plod along and keep the ship alive and well.

Gamemaster: Sage Pennington

Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: The USS Athena is caught up in a temporal anomaly with a ship from the future, the USS Shai. The Ops Chief from the Athena has been swept off into the future and the CNS from the Shai has appeared on the Athena.

Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward? James Sinclair who volunteered to be whisked off to the future.

FComm’s Comments: Besides 1 or 2 AWOL, the Athena is in good shape. Nice work team!

USS Atlantis

Commanding Officer: Kate O’Neill

How is your ship looking overall? The Atlantis is chugging along great with 179 posts for the month of June. It has gotten three new crew in the past month or so and they are fitting in with the crew like a glove. There have been a few AWOL and LOA’s but it was a busy month for most with school ending, graduations, new jobs, vacations, etc. Regular life stuff but the ship is moving stories along with a good pace even in light of these absences.

The main sim has the Atlantis crew finding out that the debris from the orbit of the planet is from the USS Reliant. There is also traces of protomatter from the Genesis explosion in residual traces. The crew is has a hypothesis of how this happened and working to confirm it.

The shipwide side sim has given a place for people to work on character development and writing thier specific character jobs. The attack on the promenade is over with two of the aliens dead, one beamed off the ship, and the last remaining Elder on the Atlantis. The means as to how the aliens were able to escape has been attributed to an insurgent team on the ship from months before. Tension is raging through the ship with the crew forming a division about what to do with the Fourth remaining Elder.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? My kudos go out to the new guy (well returning member) Justin Woods and his character Jacen “Flex” Flexwood. He has hit the ground running and creating amazing stories with several people on the ship. Thank you Jacen for giving the Atlantis a chance and keep up the amazing writing.

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.Try to engage people in the stories they want to tell as well as support them in their creative endeavors.

Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: The Atlantis has learned that the piece of debris belonged to the USS Reliant.. The crew has also discover the odd radiation signature on the planet and around the piece of Reliant debris is from protomatter.

Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward?
Ray Branch for keeping the Captain in check and problem-solving to keep the main sim moving forward.

Get the new people up to speed and write medical into the main sim now that we have a CMO and JO docs.

FComm’s Comments: Unsure why no XO report. Will be reaching out to ship to be sure all’s well with AWOL. Pretty happy with how ship is running.

USS Chimera

Commanding Officer: Katherine Dedul

How is your ship looking overall? Overall we are okay. I have a few minor issues that I need to sort out, but generally people are keeping busy while we wait for our GM to start (Hopefully soon). All my vacant department head positions are filled, but I am always on the lookout for more talented people to join as various JOs.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? Honestly, loving the drama that is happening over with the marine fighters. Travis Good’s character has a fascinating backstory and I’m enjoying reading it.

I’d also like to thank Travis for stepping into doing double duty as CE. He’s been a huge help on the ship.

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.I will be staying on top of the GM situation. If things don’t work out, we have the beginnings of a plan B, so I’m not overly concerned at this stage. It’s just a situation to continue to monitor.
