The Black Fleet Report - July 2018

USS Europa

Commanding Officer: Joe P

Crew Posting Level: 3
Senior Staff Posting Level: 3
Overall Ship Health: 4

Ship Status: We’re still recovering from the switch to the new site. Everyone is re-rostered but not everyone has posted yet. We also need to address some AWOL personnel who were AWOL before the switch.

We’re teetering at the very end of the sim. I expect to end it this month and start the new one shortly afterwards.

Spotlight: None this month, if only because we’re still a little out of sorts.

Executive Officer: No report submitted

Gamemaster: No report submitted

AFComm’s Comments: The Europa I suspect will bounce back soon. Joe seems to be wanting to get her into shape. While we did just switch over to Exodus, Europa is one of two ships with the least amount of posts. While I’m not one to emphasize quantity, I think there’s something to be said in how often posts go off. She can use some new crew members who post at a fast rate. She does have solid characters there and with Tyra on LOA, the sim seems to be taking just a bit longer. I’m confident in Joe to see the ship come back to life.

FComm’s Comments: I agree with Anthony’s assessment. The command crew appears to be working hard to recover.

USS Genesis

Commanding Officer: No report submitted

Executive Officer: Luke Hung

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 9

Ship Status: We are between sims still and had to deal with the web change over and as such our pace has taken a little bit of a hit. Despite this we, the finest ship in the fleet, continue to post as a very good rate. Go us.

Gamemaster: Kenson Koh

Crew Posting Level: 9
Senior Staff Posting Level: 9
Overall Ship Health: 10

Sim Overview: The Genesis is now on an exploratory mission to the uncharted parts of the Alpha Quadrant. They have come detected two ships, both with primitive warp drives and are going to make contact with them.

Spotlight:

AFComm’s Comments: The Genesis appears to be doing ok. Julia is currently on LOA last I heard. Once she’s back I think we may touch base with all of the CO’s to ensure they know how to declare LOAs and to ensure their crews do the same. Overall, nothing bad to note for the Genesis, as she is doing just fine!

USS Merrimack

Commanding Officer: David Fergusson

Crew Posting Level: 4
Senior Staff Posting Level: 8
Overall Ship Health: 8

Ship Status: We have met the Ark Angel, a futuristic 24th Century ship, which is captained by the daughter of Romulan Commander Andon. A woman I met in her thirties only a few days ago, such is the weird nature of time travel. A briefing and planning meeting made great progress, but the ship has been visited by space-time ghosts and a Boron Particle, that might have produced a black-hole if not dealt with by 24th Century science. Kord is creating a weapon to defeat the Dark Serpents, once these delays have been sorted. Meanwhile, Bre is giving birth to her twins in Sickbay.

I think the ship is very healthy. The move to Exodus has slowed things down. It took a little while to get everyone back. David R and Jody have taken LOAs (although not officially posted in Jody’s case.) The joint Sim with the Ark Angel has meant that we are also waiting upon crew from that ship to get sorted out too. However, while the junior officers’ posts have slowed, all the other senior crew, bar Tyra (LOA), have posted regularly. We are still missing a CE, which is difficult in a Sim that has been engineering orientated.

Spotlight: No stand out players this month. Great teamwork!

Executive Officer: No report submitted

Gamemaster: Robert Archer

Crew Posting Level: 5
Senior Staff Posting Level: 5
Overall Ship Health: 7

Sim Overview: Posting wise since the move the ship has been a little sluggish both on the Ark Angel and Merrimack. But now that we got both ships back up and running things are slowly picking up! On the Merrimack, the XO and company are building a subspace bomb, while in medical Bre, has gone in to labor and Cross and company are dealing with that, on the bridge Glen is debating sending a distress beacon as down in engineering the staff there aided by Ark Angel Lt Tranior is dealing with a Boron particle and trying to keep it from blowing up the ship! On the Ark Angel, Drudoc has returned to the ship, the XO has gotten the crew into their assigned tasks. Engineering and tactical/security are arming some quantum torpedoes with the dangerous Red Matter. While science is preparing to begin scans for the quantum reality hopping Serpents.

Spotlight:

AFComm’s Comments: It seems the Merrimack is picking up its pace well enough after the transition. I love seeing sims that connect with other ships in STF so this is pretty exciting for me! I would like to see an XO report this month. To be honest, I don’t think we’ve had an XO report for quite some time. If its part of the job of being CO, XO, or GM, then we ought to be seeing it.

FComm’s Comments: Besides the continuously missing XO report, I’m really enjoying the cross over sim with the Ark Angel. Both crews are working hard to keep up the pace, and with the Merri’s posting speed… I applaud them.

Oed V

Commanding Officer: Tony Findora

Crew Posting Level: 8
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: We had a relatively normal month until the switchover to Exodus. And then somehow, Exodus did a bunch of work for me as I somehow managed to procure a new Head of Police Force, Head of Consctruction, a new CIO, 3 Klingon warriors, and a Klingon diety. I didn’t even try looking for anyone. They kinda just showed up. haha.

It appears we may have lost one member during the switchover as I still have yet to hear from Jerome.

We are currently welcoming Hjörtur Ingi, Russ Watt, David Shotten, David Eads, Jeremy Despain, and James Sinclair! Oed is currently hopping, as it were. Once Julia is back from LOA, things are sure to be crazy for the planet!

Please email me if you’re interested in joining Oed V, via the contact form! :)

Spotlight: This month I would like to spotlight Lindsay Bayes! We had a lot of busy people during the switchover, and Linds was no exception. Despite her many areas of copy and pasting, and helping with placing people, she was still able to snag what posts she was involved in. Furthermore, she’s started a new PRSIM and her side sim of a trip to Tyrellia is sure to be fun! Always has been and always will be a true asset to any ship. Thank you!

Executive Officer: Sidney Parker

Crew Posting Level: 6
Senior Staff Posting Level: 6
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: The month was going well before the change over. slow to median posting. It had dropped off a little but I would say well within comfort levels. After the change over we adjusted well mostly thanks to Anthony.

Spotlight: Anthony Findora for his efforts on the Exodus change over.

Gamemaster: No report submitted

AFComm’s Comments: Oed has definitely sprung up from the transition. To date, since the transition from Drupal to Exodus, Oed has the most post going over 120 in just a couple weeks. There are a couple stragglers that will likely get sorted out soon, but overall I would say it was a good transition. Oed is sure to be bounding with activity next month.

FComm’s Comments: OED looks extremely healthy! A few more people on the roster would definitely push it to the next level.

USS Olympic

Commanding Officer: D Grisham

Crew Posting Level: 6
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: We have finished up our last sim (the one with the beetles) in a kind of rush. It coincided with our move to Exodus so it just seemed like a good time to do it. Everyone is busy with evaluations with our new counselor. Miriam has created a Raka—a feline, about three feet tall. It will be interesting to see how he fits in with the rest of the crew. Our new GM, Josh Ezell, will start our new sim sometime this weekend and I expect everyone to get back into storytelling like the pros they are. Charlie is on a three week LOA while traveling.

Spotlight: Miriam, for her portrayal of Sathut, a Raka. She told me to think of Rocket Racoon from Guardians of the Galaxy, but as a cat. I like this species she’s created and her posts are very interesting.

Executive Officer: No report submitted

Gamemaster: No report submitted

AFComm’s Comments: The Olympic seems to have bounce back nicely as well for the most part. With a new sim soon to be underway and a new counselor getting situated, I have a feeling the Olympic will do well this coming month!

USS Wolverine

Commanding Officer: No report submitted

Executive Officer: Ray Branch

Crew Posting Level: 5
Senior Staff Posting Level: 5
Overall Ship Health: 5

Ship Status: The teams on the space station are beginning to interact with the vendors after finding nothing too suspicious.

This past month has been slow, due to the site transfer. Posting has picked up as all characters have been re-added to the roster. Trinity has also agreed to come aboard as our new CMO :)

Spotlight: None to Report.

Gamemaster: No report submitted

AFComm’s Comments: Jason is currently on LOA, as he had to go on LOA right before the switch to Exodus. Due to that, the Wolverine is slowly powering up engines, so to speak. There are definitely posts, and people are posting when and where possible. Otherwise, I think we will see things better once Jason gets back from LOA.

FComm’s Comments: See XO Report. (I can’t wait for Jason to return ^_^).
