Starfleet Academy Report - August 2019

USS Challenger

Commanding Officer: No report submitted

Executive Officer: Steve Johnson

Crew Posting Level: 8
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: Overall the Challenger has been plodding along. The simm has slowed down significantly, which has curtailed some of the posting. However, the crew has done pretty well with keeping themselves entertained in the meantime.

Hopefully we’ll be able to wrap up soon and get the Challenger moving forward to a new simm.

Gamemaster: Geoff Joosten

Crew Posting Level: 8
Senior Staff Posting Level: 8
Overall Ship Health: 8

Sim Overview: Still puttering around trying to figure out what to do about the Potterfield, the sim now has three main threads that hopefully will grow to engage most of the crew. This sim is running a little longer than expected but people seem to be enjoying themselves and that makes me happy.

Spotlight: None this month

FComm’s Comments: Overall I have no concerns with the Challenger. Things seem to be coming along swimmingly and the roster looks relatively healthy. I’m particularly happy to see that no cadets are even remotely AWOL, which is great!!

USS Endeavour

Commanding Officer: Katherine Dedul

Crew Posting Level: 8
Senior Staff Posting Level: 8
Overall Ship Health: 8

Ship Status: We are fully staffed! A special thank you to my XO for doing some begging and pleading to get us here, thanks, Sarah!

Overall, the sim keeps moving forward, we’re making progress at saving the remaining people off the Golddigger and those not directly involved there are keeping busy with side sims and the like, so overall I’m happy with the progress of the ship.

Executive Officer: Sarah Hemenway

Crew Posting Level: 8
Senior Staff Posting Level: 8
Overall Ship Health: 8

Ship Status: The Endeavour has exploded this month! Some changeover on the staff and a handful of new cadets has led to a large uptick in activity. I’m beyond impressed at how supportive the entire staff has been to our three new cadets.

Spotlight: Jay Luistro (Cadet Kai Oliver Kingstone), Damian Scott (Cadet Dominic Cyris Corvax), and Ben Simons (Lieut (j.g.) Torias Paron) have an amazing holodeck side sim going while still actively participating in the main sim. Emily S. (Lieutenant K’Resh)’s Klingon is such a fun read and I look forward to seeing more going forward.

Vacancies:

Gamemaster: Gene Gibbs

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 6
Overall Ship Health: 7

Sim Overview: The sim is nearing the point where I’ll break it off and end it and move into the next part of it. Technically that would be the next ‘act’ but the sim has carried on a long while now and should find closure. So .. where are we?

The away team has beamed down to the asteroid to attempt a rescue of the last four prospectors. Due to interference beaming them out was impossible as it stood thus requiring an away mission. To complicate matters the asteroid itself, an amalgum of ice and rock, is in danger of splitting, not to mention the fuel leaking out of the ships are in danger of an explosion. Time is not on the side of the away team and science and engineering are at the forefront of this rescue.

On the vessel the survivors of the second prospector ship had been beamed aboard. One, the captain, was suffering from a head wound and concussion while his daughter, more severely injured with a punctured lung and broken/cracked ribs. Medical is rushing to save them.

FComm’s Comments: The Endeavor crew is doing great! The ship has a flurry of activity this month which is a drastic change from previous months and that is great! I’m looking forward to seeing where Gene takes us next. :)
