The Pioneer Fleet Report - August 2019

USS Athena

Commanding Officer: Lindsay Bayes

Crew Posting Level: 6
Senior Staff Posting Level: 8
Overall Ship Health: 9

Ship Status: July was a solid month for the ship. Our sim has continued and the tension and drama has been amped up significantly. Most of the crew is involved though I’m just working to make sure a few people get a chance to join in the fun too. Still lots of side sims going on, despite some LOAs. We did lose our Sci JOs, but have just recruited another, so the science department is more stable. A big welcome to Steve Aliss!

Spotlight: Ian- Thank you for managing the chaos with your ever consistent adeptness.

I also want to highlight Hjörtur, Tony and Catt for finding ways to keep their characters ever engaged in the various plots.

Vacancies: 1 x Sci JO

Executive Officer: No report submitted

Gamemaster: Ian Kerby

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Sim Overview: Mirror Kaylee Baxter managed to get aboard the Athena and was in the process of kidnapping Iliana Ghemor the Mirror Emissary of the Prophets when Isabel Delaney tried to intervene. A flash of light ensued and all three vanished.

Having restored the weather regulators on Mirror Risa, Stark, Orvos, Konral, and Julien have started investigating the large borehole that appeared on the surface. Strangely, said borehole comes complete with a staircase leading down into the depths.

Ensign Ceres doppelgänger sundae is appearing through some sort of “transporter malfunction”. Inhibitors have probably saved his life but now the team is aware that there are patches of the same transporter energy signature all over the ship. What is going on?

FComm’s Comments: The Athena crew posted well within their limits with month with 243 posts for the month of July. Great job guys. Keep it up!

USS Atlantis

Commanding Officer: Kate O’Neill

Crew Posting Level: 9
Senior Staff Posting Level: 9
Overall Ship Health: 9

Ship Status: The intrepid Atlantis crew is out and about on the alien outpost trying to find information about how to get home and components to fix their ship. Keene is about to possibly re-enact a memory from her childhood which has Kelly sending in reinforcements. Vlader and the science teams are trying to catch a pickpocket in the arboretum while Ian is debating how much Kelly does love him after making him carry what she jokingly has dubbed “the orb of knowledge”. Is it maps? Is it a bomb? Ian will be the first to know. The Atlantis kiddos are learning how holograms eat and attempting to still build their personal replicator. On a side note, the side sims are shaping up nicely for any style one wishes to read. Sam and Nathan are posting about their backstories to give us more insight on their characters. Steven and Ffion are creating a playground the kids are sure to love but definitely not up to OSHA standards. Kelly has learned that the computer will reject any version of her name that does not include the letters B.O.R.D.E.A.U.X. The crew is swapping bar stories in Mardusk’s kickback spot as M’Lene is getting a call from home. The Bay City detectives are hard at work attempting to protect the harbor. What more can a crew want to do on their on or off-hours?

Spotlight: My spotlight this month is on Nathan Derricut. He has been working a lot on character development over the past few weeks. The result is a magnificent story that shows the depth and perspective of his character we haven’t seen yet. Amazing story to those currently in the thread. Thank you for sharing it with us.

FComm’s Comments: The GM was on LOA which is why there is no report submitted. The main sim is progressing nicely and there is a place for everyone to post. The crew of the Atlantis posted well within their limits with month with 191 posts for the month of July. Great job guys. Keep it up!

USS Dresden

Commanding Officer: No report submitted

Executive Officer: Joana Ribeiro

Crew Posting Level: 9
Senior Staff Posting Level: 9
Overall Ship Health: 9

Ship Status: July saw a tremendous increase in posting on the Dresden, especially during the first half of the month. There were 186 posts made on the board, which is a relief seeing that we had half of those a few months ago. In the beginning of July we welcomed Andrew Robinson as our new GM and Trinity Fister as our CSO. A few days ago, Matt Evans and Ben Z also joined the crew as Security Officers.

Posting has been enthusiastic and consistent across the ship, both on the main sim and on side sims. I am extremely happy and excited to see what is coming next to the Dresden during the month of August!

Spotlight: I think this month the whole crew deserves the spotlight, but I will have to shine a stronger light on Andrew Robinson for his amazing storytelling and sim-crafting, and for bringing the Dresden back to life by almost killing everyone in it.

Gamemaster: Andrew Robinson

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 9

Sim Overview: Dresden is really clipping along with an engaged and excited crew who seem eager to embrace the carnage. We’ve had some new members come aboard who have thrown themselves into the mix with rare abandon and I’m really enjoying the interaction not only with the main sim, but between characters. The intruders have all been killed in tremendously horrible ways. Many crew are injured and being treated in sickbay, including severe injuries to a number of senior officers. CIO Holloway has been kidnapped and is currently being tortured by an extremely unpleasant Cardassian. There are odd references to terrans, and the klingons and cardassians seem to be working together. The enemy ship is moving underway, seemingly having what they want with the kidnapped CIO. The ship is moving towards what appears to be a spatial tear. What is the tear? who is Our Lady? Why are the Cardassians and Klingons working together? What do they want? More importantly, who is the mysterious doctor Finlay who seems to be working with the Cardassians, but seems determined to keep Holloway alive?

Spotlight: Joana Ribiero and D Grisham have been doing a truly stellar job playing out the torture and confinement with the Cardassian. Some stunning writing has taken place across the board. I cannot speak highly enough of the crew of the Dresden and the truly stunning work they are doing there.

FComm’s Comments: The Captain is on LOA at the time the report was submitted. The crew of the Dresden posted well within their limits with month with 193 posts for the month of July. Great job guys. Keep it up!

USS Ogawa

Commanding Officer: Cale Reilly

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 8

Ship Status: The owie has had a busy couple weeks and the whole crew have been working hard on the main sim and some amazing character development. Things are starting to becomes as clear as mud in the main sim, but it seems that somehow people we don’t know have found their way on board…

Spotlight: Honestly I could spotlight so many people, Emily S has joined us with the cutest awkward science officer, I laugh every time. Sam, Sarah and Brandon continue to amuse in sickbay and kudos to Amber who has worked out the weird cadet and James with a great forward thinking sim.

Tyra, Steven and Kate have been working really had with some great side sims and Roger Babin who just recently joined us has jumped right into the mix. Thank you guys.

Vacancies: None, we are full.

Executive Officer: No report submitted

Gamemaster: Lindsay Bayes

Crew Posting Level: 8
Senior Staff Posting Level: 9
Overall Ship Health: 9

Sim Overview: More random people have appeared on the Ogawa and there seems to be continual mention of a Starbase? Also, these people keep calling some of the crew by different names. It all seemed very confusing until the conversation on the bridge revealed a major clue: these people are characters from a contemporary soap opera that the captain enjoys watching called Starbase Hospital. But what is going on? These people aren’t corporeal- where did they come from? Does it have anything to do with the subspace pocket the ship is in? Can these beings help them escape? Stay tuned to find out…

Spotlight: Major cookies to James Sinclair for thinking to scan our mystery woman on the bridge. That directly led to them connecting the dots as to the soap opera and the confused identities. Keep up the great work!

And kudos to our intrepid CO for working hard to keep the sim ticking over when I needed the crew to have a bit of a nudge.

FComm’s Comments: The XO is on LOA at the time the report was submitted. The Ogawa crew posted well within their limits with month with 394 posts for the month of July. Great job guys. Keep it up!

Outpost 42

Commanding Officer: Adam W.

Crew Posting Level: 8
Senior Staff Posting Level: 6
Overall Ship Health: 8

Ship Status: With 117 posts July was the busiest month on Outpost 42 in the last year. The roster is totally green as I write this and with Trinity Fister returning to fill our vacant COS position as the month ended, all senior staff positions are filled. Liam’s really making us work to get information out of his funny and unique time-traveling main sim characters. It’s been a fun main sim and with those who’ve recently joined there’s more activity and variety in our side sims than there used to be.

Spotlight: I’m still really impressed by the turn the Outpost has taken since Hjortur, Emily, and Gene were added. We’ve always had fantastic writers and now it feels like there’s some fresh life we’ve been lacking. Thanks to our newest members for being so proactive.

Vacancies: None.

Executive Officer: Kate O’Neill

Ship Status: The outpost is doing very well this quarter. We have had several new players join the ship and they are creating amazing stories. The main sim is moving along nicely and I can’t wait to see where Liam is taking us. Each side sim is different and unique so there is something for everyone to read. Keep up the good work.
