The Foremost Fleet Report - January 2020

USS Ark Angel

Commanding Officer: Robert Archer

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 8

Ship Status: I’m super happy with the state of the AA while the holiday slump has finally hit us with two awols at the time of this writing we have gotten the previous sim wrapped up. Shanok went up in a shower of flame blowing up the Lawgiver ruins, but not before the Ark Angel crew escaped at the last moment by a risky transporter maneuver. Also retrieved was the a digital copy of The Lawgiver’s Fifth Scroll which was returned with their Gurdian guests to their home world for their own private use and distribution to their government. Currently we’re doing side sims, one is a display of holiday spirit in 17/18 forward the other is several department specific side sims for the crew to keep active. There is also an archery holo side sim happening with the new XO and one of our medical JOs

Spotlight:

Vacancies: 1x Med JO
2x Science JOs

Executive Officer: Ben Simons

Crew Posting Level: 8
Senior Staff Posting Level: 8
Overall Ship Health: 8

Ship Status: Being between sims right now, the Ark Angel is very active with high quality posting across the crew. As my first official month in the First Officer position, I’ve been impressed that the holidays hasn’t seemed to impact the ship that much this year. With the posting limits lifted for the Christmas period, I’m looking forward to next month when the new year will be starting with our next sim.

Spotlight: This month I’d like to highlight our new Chief Engineer Miz’uki, who has been setting an example for her department from the day she arrived. Her posting is high quality and it has been a pleasure reading her posts this month.

Vacancies: All JO position Vacancies, but especially Medical and Ops.

Gamemaster: Robert Archer

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 8

Sim Overview: See CO Report

Spotlight:

AFComm’s Comments: The Ark Angel has been a flurry of activity this month. You wouldn’t know that there was a holiday break just by reading it, since it seems as if nearly everyone kept playing.

USS Asimov

Commanding Officer: Tyra Schroll

Crew Posting Level: 6
Senior Staff Posting Level: 6
Overall Ship Health: 5

Ship Status: We have crash landed on a planet in our brand new shiny Asimov Sniff Sniff. We are still trying to assess where we are and how badly damaged we are. It will be an interesting ride…something it seems akin to Gilligans Island....wonders if she should be worried about this

Spotlight: Jason Lee has gotten us off with a bang.....a literal bang.

Vacancies:

Executive Officer: Cale Reilly

Crew Posting Level: 5
Senior Staff Posting Level: 6
Overall Ship Health: 6

Ship Status: So we are nearly back to being fully staffed and we have a new GM. Huge thank you to Sarah for her exciting send off of the old ship and to Jason Lee who kindly agreed to come in as her replacement with an exciting sim start to boot. Shakedown cruise was underway before Jason decided to crash us. Thanks Jason!

As the holidays hit we had some AWOLs and LOAs but I’m confident things will pick up as we move into January, everyone’s finding their feet IC and working together so I a, excited to see where the shop goes next.

Spotlight: Nick, Ben, Sarah, Brandon, and Tyra for their hard work and excellent character development so far. Nathan for sticking by the ship.

Vacancies: JOs all departments and swings.

Gamemaster: Jason Lee

Crew Posting Level: 8
Senior Staff Posting Level: 8
Overall Ship Health: 8

Sim Overview: New sim, the Asimov has crashed into a planet. We’re still dealing with events leading to the crash and shortly after the crash.

Spotlight: None at this time.

FComm’s Comments: As I said In the XO report the Azzy has worked hard to improve over the last month, it now has a full compliment of DHs and posting over the holidays has been good despite the relaxed posting limits and holidays. My only concern is that the ship has not been taken care of p, tsk tsk crashing it on its shake down cruise. Thankfully the ship is still under warranty so we should be fine :p

SS Bonaventure

Commanding Officer: Melissa Aragon

Crew Posting Level: 8
Senior Staff Posting Level: 8
Overall Ship Health: 8

Ship Status: Very low on personnel and holidays have us running slow. Planning on picking up after this week Ann’s going back to full steam ahead.

Spotlight: The whole crew. Being as small as we are, and as slow as it’s been, I applaud everyone who has stuck around and plodded on!

Vacancies: Already given

Executive Officer: No report submitted - Excused (non existent people don’t file reports. Or at least they shouldn’t, if they are I tend to find that’s a poltergeist and time to call in against busters or a Witcher)

Gamemaster: Gene Gibbs

Crew Posting Level: 6
Senior Staff Posting Level: 6
Overall Ship Health: 6

Sim Overview: I preface this to say that we had a good first half of the month until the holidays set in and I was either very active with the holiday things or not nicely sick. I’m still the latter and am shooting from the hip on this update. The group who is in First City are meeting the inhabitants and finding things are not in good shape. What is there is old, dirt is the currency outside of barter and being something new, they are the main attraction. The Away Team is just launched down to explore a tunnel section in the crust of the Dyson Sphere to determine if it is potentially inhabitable for the denizens of the Sphere before the systems fail and they are sucked into the black hole in the center of the Sphere.

Spotlight:

AFComm’s Comments: The Bonaventure is a mess at the moment, and we’re currently involved in constructive dialogue on how to correct the situation. One suggestion has been to change the ship’s speed; we’re looking to see what the crew thinks about that.

USS Manhattan

Commanding Officer: James Sinclair

Crew Posting Level: 6
Senior Staff Posting Level: 6
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: Ship is currently preparing for a mission to Graven XII to assist in the civilization there.

Spotlight:

Vacancies: JO’s all departments.

Executive Officer: Steven Sigle

Crew Posting Level: 5
Senior Staff Posting Level: 5
Overall Ship Health: 5

Ship Status: Winter has slowed much of us down, but we are regrouping to chug into the new year :)

Spotlight:

Vacancies:

Gamemaster: No report submitted - Excused (Position Vacant - You want a bit of sassy science vessel? This ships your ideal match!)

FComm’s Comments: The Manhattan has done well over the holidays despite both the relaxed limits and events and the lack of GM. The GMdepartment is aware of the vacancy and we are hopeful it will be filled soon. Well done to everyone who kept with the ship over the period and continue to produce some really interesting stories which are fun to read. I do love a good espionage story!

USS Memorial

Commanding Officer: Kirt Gartner

Crew Posting Level: 5
Senior Staff Posting Level: 5
Overall Ship Health: 5

Ship Status: The Away team has been fired upon by one of its own members the injured NEs have been beamed to sickbay and are recovering Ensign Jean-François Chéreau has been beamed to the brig and is awaiting return to Starbase 243 for his Tribunal where he claims he will accuse Captain Zoarhi Commander Jones and Potentially the Chief Medical officer of something! The Away team is wrapping up operations on the enemy ship once the team beams back the Memorial will be returning to Starbase 243 for said tribunal Repairs Crew rotation

Spotlight: Travis Good for this upcoming Tribunal side sim idea! and for throwing in the twist that he will be accusing the Senior officers of misconduct

Vacancies: 1 Security JO
1 Engineer JO
1 Medical JO
1 Helm/Shuttle Pilot

Executive Officer: Nathan Derricutt

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: The sim is nearly at an end as progressed at a good pace. the crew seem to have engaged with this sim very well. I think i will email them once it has finished to see what they thought and get an idea of how ell the sim was received. I’m hoping to, if this is successful do this after every sim to gauge the ship and how the crew are feeling. we have issues with a character bit we are in the process of sorting it out. It is getting a bit more long winded then i would have liked. However the end result will be the same, it will just take a tad longer.

As expected for this time of year the Posting levels have dropped, myself included but i am confident soon enough everyone will be back to posting.

Spotlight:

Vacancies: we are still looking for JOs in all departments

Gamemaster: No report submitted - Not excused.

AFComm’s Comments: The Memorial seems to be doing OK. There are a few people who seem as if they haven’t come back from the holidays yet, but given the slower speed I don’t think this is really evidence of a problem.

Final Comments: Huge thank you to all the foremost command teams who got their reports in on time. And a special mention to Ben as this was his first report as XO of the Ark Angel! hands bamboo cookies to all
Generally the fleet is in a not bad place over the Christmas and new year season. Some amazing crews and exciting threads here which I would recommend to anyone looking for a new ship. We have areas that need attention, some that need a little TLC and some doing brilliantly so lots to work with and work on over the coming month. All command teams are working hard and I am confident the fleet will continue to go from strength to strength.

This month we are bringing back the Fleet Awards. These are generally based on spotlights from command teams or other comments from crew privately or things that stick out while Joe or I are reading the ships. (For those who left the spotlight empty please can we try and fill something in for next month. Nothing like a ship shout out!)

The December Foremost fleet report. Brought to you by the Number 6 and the letter J. No alien species or blood wine bottles were harmed in the creation of this report. A hamster chewed a cushion and we lost a pocket full of change down the back of the sofa but that was it.
