USS Ark Angel

Commanding Officer: Robert Archer

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: Solid 7’s all around this month! Earlier on we lost some folks due to us being too fast to handle for their free time in real life but we’ve bounced back filling in the open CNS spot plus we now also got a JO in each department! YAY!

Sim wise things started off pretty quick and moved along nicely so far. The Ark Angel a week or so after their last sim picked up a distress call of a mid-23rd century Federation ship called the USS Browns Town! Checking a nearby system the crew found the ship had crashed into the planet and only a handful of the crew survived who were beamed up to the sickbays. Having been tended the Browns Town crew are being moved to guest quarters. The ship’s chief engineer Lt Commander Traleen has explained the the CO and company the Browns Town had been testing a more efficient warp field formula in 2251 when they left the Sol system and something went wrong, they crashed into the planet they are in orbit of now less then a day ago! Currently engineering and operations are checking into the Browns Town’s Black box to get more info. While medical and security manage to clean up after tending the survivors injured. The ship’s counseling department will surely have their hands full in the four month trip back to Federation space as it seems there is no way to return the Browns Town crew to their own time, they’re stuck in the 24th century.

Side simming wise we got a lot of presim threads going on with our new cns and jo’s keeping busy as well in more modern thread times the XO realizing just how stupidly fast he’s come up the promotion ladder to his current position since graduating from the academy!

Ship Status: After starting our long journey, we’re already returning with a lost crew in time, we’re still on the return journey and have been getting some new crew coming in, we now have at least one JO in each department. The ship has been active and there has been some good posts all round.

Spotlight: This month I think I should point out our new counsellor who has come in and has given an opportunity for everyone to get their psychs done. His take on counselling is definitely not the sugar-coating kind, and I like that unique quality to roleplay with.

Vacancies: We could always take more JOs. We have two in sciences so other departments would be the higher priority right now.

USS Asimov

Sim Overview: The ship was assigned a 3 day shakedown cruise of the new ship. Hours after disembarking from the Starbase, the ship encountered an unknown anomaly which appeared out of nowhere. The anomaly pulled the ship in, and the ship registered that it was going at speeds higher than it was rated for, at warp 9.995. The passage of time only felt a brief couple of minutes, but there was no way of exactly knowing how far the ship had traveled. As the ship was “spat” out of the anomaly at high speeds, the ship past through a heavy plasma storm which knocked out a great deal of systems.

Specifically, “The plasma storm struck the ship directly, and damaged some of the critical systems… the primary and secondary computer had gone offline, half of the EPS systems ruptured from the plasma storm’s surge, which also damaged the replication systems too. The plasma storms damaged the shields, which were now at 17%. Hull integrity remained intact however. Weapons were operable, but the tractor system and defector system was offline now due to the plasma storm damage.”
As the ship cleared the plasma storm, what was currently obvious on the viewscreen of the visual sensors was a planet was fast approaching… or rather the ship was fast approaching the planet.

As the ship entered the planet’s atmosphere, the Helms NE tried to adjust the ship’s entry. Unluckily, the ship got struck by a bolt of lightning. The shields was reduced down to 7%, and more electrical systems across the ship got damaged. All but one fusion generator was working now. A tractor beam was detected against their ship, but it only operated for 3 seconds. It had adjusted the ship’s trajectory and had slowed the ship down slightly. The Ops officer was able to see that it came from a Ferengi scout ship, that had crashed, as it was stuck in a downward position, but strangely, had a tractor emitter at the back of its ship.

The ship crashed, and all of the crew were knocked unconscious. Sufficient say, all the crew suffered various degrees of injuries.

AFComm’s Comments: The Asimov had most of its Command staff on LOA (and those people are excused from reporting this month) and as a result there are several AWOLs that are unaddressed. That said, the ship still seems to be moving along at a steady pace, and I’m not worried about the situation.

SS Bonaventure

Commanding Officer: No report submitted - not excused

Executive Officer: Owen M

Crew Posting Level: 5
Senior Staff Posting Level: 5
Overall Ship Health: 5

Ship Status: We’re a little low on personnel although I see this picking up as we go along.

Spotlight: I’ve not really had enough time to work with individual members of the crew, but they are all amazing.

Vacancies: JOs in all Departments

Gamemaster: Gene Gibbs

Crew Posting Level: 6
Senior Staff Posting Level: 6
Overall Ship Health: 6

Sim Overview: The Bonnie hovers about watching while the crew are split up between the First City sphere that has ‘slipped’ some, being pulled toward the black hole in the center of the dyson sphere when two of the gravitic repulsors keeping it at bay failed. There was damage to the sphere and those on board it are trying to fathom what to do and how, if possible, to evacuate it. Meanwhile a team is down under the skin of the sphere to explore and find a possible new home, if temporary, for the inhabitants. They are exploring along an old transit tunnel system where other past survey crews had gone but never returned.

Spotlight:

AFComm’s Comments: The Bonaventure could be doing better; several people are dealing with real life problems and it’s producing drag. We’ve also recently allowed them to change speed to slow; we’ll have to see next month if it pays dividends in smoothing things out.

Sim Overview: The Manhattan has been invited by a people from Graven XII to assist them in various things. I’ve just come on board this month and am still getting my furry toes wet here. The ship has arrived at the system and is just getting their orders (and mine!) from the captain in a staff briefing. The world is one that had warp technology and utilized it a long time ago then, without word, returned to their homeworld and assumed a 21st Century technology for living. So we shall see what mischief I can get into with that form of brief.

AFComm’s Comments: The Manhattan is looking pretty good this month. It seems as if the change in GM and extra effort in dealing with some extended absences is paying off.

Ship Status: We are finally wrapping up our main sim. it has taken longer then we would have liked. However we are working on making sure future sims do not drag on as this was has. So the crew can keep interested in the sim. We do have a few AWOLs that we are working on. We are continuing our efforts in main the ship heath good. Issuing warnings where necessary and trying to to keep an eye n the roster.

Spotlight:

Vacancies: We are still looking for JOs in all departments. Our new CE should be starting soon.

Gamemaster: No report submitted - not excused

AFComm’s Comments: The posting rate for the ship is minimally adequate, though the Gamemaster is as of this writing AWOL for three weeks with no explanation whatsoever, and sim progress has been mentioned in reports as problematic. I’m guessing there probably needs to a little more help from us at Fleet Command here, so we’ll be doing that.
