The Black Fleet Report - March 2020

USS Europa

Commanding Officer: No report submitted

Executive Officer: Janice B.

Crew Posting Level: 10
Senior Staff Posting Level: 5
Overall Ship Health: 8

Ship Status: This month was hard because of the state of things becoming crazy. So crazy in fact, I had to alter the manner I determine the posting levels and ship health. It’s always positive to see a post in the Europa anytime, especially now, so I felt the numbers should reflect that.

Now for the fun stuff:

As expected, the main sim hasn’t moved much. I am proud to say, the crew is doing whatever they can and interacting with each other in the threads. Avik got into a conversation with Lt. Abrams over her decision to materialize a few rooms away. Logic was sound for the Vulcan XO as she turned to engage into conversation with JO Franklin, send in the CE’s place to join them. During the conversation, Marsh checked the comm links to ensure they work by sending the XO a message. Confirming it with a reply, Avik then asked him to double-checked if the ship’s support systems were still running. The last thing that would help the crew was walking into an airless ship.

Spotlight: I want to spotlight all the crew members who have found time and energy to post on the ship. During this hard time, it’s easy to put hobbies and other less important things to the side. I just wanted to say Thank you from the bottom of my heart and wish you all safety and health. Without her crew, there would be no Europa.

Vacancies: Europa is still accepting and wanting Junior Officers of all departments. If you’re interested, contact JoeP and/or Fallenreaper on discord or through Email.

FComm’s Comments: Given the hectic nature of life for many of our members I’ve decided like the XO mentioned to relax how I judge the health of a ship for the past month. Overall I’d say the Europa is in good standing, though I’m sad to see so many awol too, including the CO and GMs not submitting reports without a reason given ahead of time. But I’m hoping we can see this turn around in the coming month

USS Genesis

Commanding Officer: Luke Hung

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 8
Overall Ship Health: 8

Ship Status: A slow month for the Genesis… probably a lot of factors add into this. I will take responsibility for some of it as I had been a little slow with posting last month which I think has a carryover effect. Side sims are down a little too, again, something I need to work on as we need some more Junior Officers and a Counselor. I will redouble my recruiting efforts.

I think the sim is rounding out, but sometimes, looks can be deceiving so I’ll look to the GM report for that.

Spotlight:

Vacancies: CNS, a whole mess of Junior Officers

USS Merrimack

Commanding Officer: David Fergusson

Crew Posting Level: 8
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 8

Ship Status: A half-Ancient, half-Human hybrid known as Daniel has arrived aboard the Merrimack, claiming to be the offspring of the Captain created from his DNA during the Merrimack’s previous visit through time and space to the Ancient Homeworld. He says that he is here to rid the Merrimack of the residual Temporal effects that have caused so many of the odd events during the last few years; numerous trips into the past and future. He says that this is required to prevent, and protect us from, dangerous and more frequent events. He has outlined a plan to the crew to build some kind of machine to do this and the materials required. As if by coincidence, Captain Glen fell unconscious at the same time, and he awoke to find himself suffering from some weird temporal induced illness. Parts of his body show ageing, or re-ageing, and he is in some kind of Temporal flux. Daniel does not know if this is connected or not, but we have to assume that it is.

I was on an eLOA for five weeks travelling abroad. The crew and GM did a good job of holding the Sim together while I was away. Unfortunately, since I returned and the Corona virus really took off around the world the posting rate has recently nose-dived. This seems odd to me as I personally have extra free time to post while self-isolating at home.

Spotlight:

Vacancies: Always willing to discuss junior officers, or custom positions aboard the Merrimack. Contact the Captain directly.

Executive Officer: David Bennett

Crew Posting Level: 6
Senior Staff Posting Level: 6
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: Considering the state of the world right now, I think we’re doing pretty good to still have activity.

Gamemaster: Robert Archer

Crew Posting Level: 6
Senior Staff Posting Level: 6
Overall Ship Health: 6

Sim Overview: More or less solid posting if slower then usual this past month. Sim wise we’ve wrapped up the conference briefing with the half human/Ancient hybrid Dan’iel. The Captain had collapsed from a strange sickness which upon examination is temporally warping his body in various ways non-so far life threatening. Meanwhile science and engineering crews prepare to help Dan’iel build some mysterious ‘temporal dohickie’ to fix the problems of temporal reality shifts the Merrimack is said to be facing.

FComm’s Comments: Given the hectic nature of life for many of our members I’ve decided to relax how I judge the health of a ship for the past month. Overall I’d say the Merrimack is in good standing, though I’m sad to see so three big awols on the roster too, kudos though to the entire command team and their OH SO HANDSOME COCKROACH GM for getting their reports in on time in full! Though I would like to see a little more detail from the XO in the coming months, something which I’ll be addressing given much of this past month he was in charge of things and I was hoping for more detail.

Oed V

Commanding Officer: Russell Watt

Crew Posting Level: 6
Senior Staff Posting Level: 5
Overall Ship Health: 5

Ship Status: Ok, I’ve been doing a lot of work off the boards for Oed V. I’ve refreshed the MOTD, and I’ve also been working working on the resource page/Oed V webpages.

Sidney is running a further side sim for us all - another murder mystery, apparently people will be dying as a result of this.

The Church of Carrotism may be having a bit of an upheavel as well.

We’ve welcomed Katy Durrah as a smuggler and are in the process of welcoming Melissa Aragorn in a couple of roles.

Spotlight:

Vacancies: CSO, JOs, Civilian Heads, other Civilians

Executive Officer: No report submitted

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: Given the hectic nature of life for many of our members I’ve decided to relax how I judge the health of a ship for the past month. Overall I’d say OED V is a mixed bag. Russ’s changes are much needed and welcome and I’m glad to see progress on those fronts. That said I hadnt gotten any notice of the XO needing an excuse from reports being given to me before report time, so for me they’re not excused this month. There are also a couple of AWOLS on the board that I’ll be addressing to Russ to try to tidy up with in the coming month.

USS Olympic

Commanding Officer: No report submitted

Executive Officer: No report submitted

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: Given the hectic nature of life for many of our members I’ve decided to relax how I judge the health of a ship for the past month. Overall I’d say the Olympic is back to a bit of a rough around the edges state. The CO and GM are not excused from the fleet report this month, though the XO is due to sad hectic life and i got promises of a BIG fleet report from them for next month. Further though is the drastic slow down of the sim progress, but it seems ok enough for now as the rest of the crew is keeping within AWOL limits. Hopefully with some guidance in the coming month we can turn this around for the Olympic

USS Wolverine

Commanding Officer: No report submitted

Executive Officer: No report submitted

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: Given the hectic nature of life for many of our members I’ve decided to relax how I judge the health of a ship for the past month. Overall I’d say the Wolverine is in good standing, with much of the crew side simming with their trip to Risa. Also as a side note it is the only ship i am aware of at current in main fleet that is ONLY humans!! This fact when I realized it made me laugh much to my enjoyment. Anyhow, the CO is excused though I got promises for an EXTRA LARGE monthly report from them next month! Sadly the XO and GM are not excused. This factor will be addressed in the coming month by email.

FCOMM Note: Due to issues in life currently my AFComm is excused for this month! As repentance for this horrid failure (note the sarcasm!) he shall be punished by writing the full report next month BWHAHAHAH! Ahem....take care everyone and stay healthy out there!
