The Technical Board

... better known as "TECH".

What is TECH?

"TECH is responsible for the designing, developing, documenting, deploying, and maintaining all application code utilized by STF. It also manages all of STF's real-world technological infrastructure, including but not limited to servers, domain names, and other network or technological constructs."

STF has used custom software for roleplaying ever since it moved to the World Wide Web from Prodigy in 1998. Historically, the club's server was administered by cabinet-level Internet Department, while software development responsibilities were the domain of the executive assistant known as The Coder. In 2015, it was noted that these two organizations were not going to be adequate to meet the technical challenges facing the club at the time. So, the club formed The Technical Board, which superceeded both entities and was given additional structure to ensure that the necessary work could be done efficiently and in an accountable way.

TECH's primary activity is the development of Exodus, a modern web application for play-by-post roleplaying that is custom-tailored for STF. Exodus went into production use on June 23, 2018.
