Welcome to STF

Welcome to STF, the best online Bulletin-board style Star Trek Role-Playing site on the internet. Founded in 1991, STF existed originally on the Prodigy "Classic" network, which provided a unique bulletin-board style format. While most RPG groups conduct their actions in live chat, which requires everyone to be online at the same time, or play-by-email, which requires sifting through many messages on your email account, the WeBB provides a central location for our RPG.

Working Smarter - A Suggestion Box

Dear STFers,

Wow, it's already been 2 weeks. Whilst my term is short compared to the usual 8 months, there is still a fair bit that I would accomplish. Everything that I want to accomplish is geared toward making STF work smarter.

What do I mean by working smarter? Well, there are a lot of different ideas on how to improve the club floating around. Unfortunately, we seem to be at the position where those who volunteer their time to help run this club don't have any spare capacity. Effectively we can keep it ticking over, but we struggling to improve the role playing.

There are various ways that we can combat this. We can ask for more people to help out in government. We can reduce the output require from the people we already have. Or we can improve the processes that we use to generate that output....

Fleet 3 CO Opening

The Resolution in fleet 3 is in need of a new CO. Think you have what it takes to command it?

If you do then send an application using my contact form and let me know your history in the club. Positions held and the name of 3 people that will provide references.

This opening is extended until 24th January.

Jim

XO Vacancy, USS Apollo

The USS Apollo is in need of a strong individual to assist her CO Lindsay Bayes in mentoring cadets, writing feedback reports as needed, monitoring AWOLs, and providing IC and OOC help for cadets. The Apollo is a slower paced ship, but she can still be quite active at times and as with all ship positions within the academy, patience as well as enthusiasm is a requirement for the job. :)

In order to qualify for this post you must have been an XO in the main fleets for a minimum of 3 months and your appointment is subject to my approval.

Reviewing the New Navy Plan

As some of you know, the Engineering Department is trying to redesign one of the guides that help current and future designers bring new ships or other types of craft to STF. I've just added in a few topics that everyone can feel free to chime in on. Don't hesitate to say what you think, and if your confused about a topic, ask and we'll try to explain it as best we can. Just visit the Engineering Department under the Command section.

Thank You.
