Pioneer Fleet Report - August 2017 on Starfleet Command

Fleet 3 report - Aug 2017

USS Ogawa

Commanding Officer: Cale Reilly

Crew Posting Level: 6
Senior Staff Posting Level: 5
Overall Ship Health: 6

Ship Status: The ship has worked well this month despite some comings and goings in the crew. We welcomed our new XOit Louis to a new placement role and he has worked really well. All of the crew have been working in character development and the main sim is coming along p. We could do wi more focus in that area especially as some threads are being missed. Hopefully this will continue to improve.

Spotlight: Louis for jumping right in and working so well with the crew and sim in his new role. Amanda and the energy she has brought.

Overall Ship Health: 8

Ship Status: At the beggining of August Cale appointed me as her Executive Officer in training during the period of time whilst the Ogawa's current Executive Officer David Eads is on extended LOA. Over the last 4 weeks I have seen know major concerns and I personally feel that the Ogawa is an amazing role playing area.

In my opinion the Ogawa is doing really well and in on track with all of the side Sims and in track with our tremendous sim provided by our resident mischief maker.

Spotlight: I would like to give my spotlight to the crew of the USS Ogawa. This is because of the warm polite welcome I received during the opening days that I arrived. There for I would like to thank the crew for the welcome I recieved

Gamemaster: No report submitted

----------------------------------------

FComm's Comments: FComm: I have no significant concerns about the Ogawa. It seems to be doing well. The beginning of Louis's XOit has gone quite well from what I have gathered.

AFComm: Like I said in the CO report the Owie has had a relatively good month and hopefully will continue to improve.

Outpost 42

Commanding Officer: Adam W.

Crew Posting Level: 8
Senior Staff Posting Level: 8
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: Posting frequency is up from the past couple months, and that despite the absence of a GM. Steven and Kate particularly have been quite active. I started up a sim to fill the gap before the new GM is in place, but it hasn’t yet turned into the ship-wide side sim I had in mind.

Usually the Outpost roster doesn’t change month, but this wasn’t a usual month. Dave Eads stepped down from his GMT due to life things going on. Dave Wonderly and Russell Watt were removed due to being unable to be active at this time. Ty Napier was also removed. Louis Harvatt joined to fill the COS role. And the stunning Anna L. has returned to play a medical JO (my character’s sister) and a rather unique unrostered character. This still leaves the COO and GM positions vacant, but Emma Burruss should be announced for the COO spot and Matthew Kleinman for the GM spot before this report is posted.

This was not an enjoyable month as CO, at least not in the middle of the month. Untrue statements were made publicly about how I’ve acted as CO. Some of the crew of the Outpost disappointed me by failing to properly respect my authority as CO and some have challenged me when I’ve tried to enforce my expectations and the Terms of Service of STF. But encouraging conversations have resulted and I think I’m more on the same page with people than I have been. I’m optimistic that the future is bright and I’m looking forward to things going smoother and continuing to roleplay with this group of truly gifted writers.

Spotlight: A special thanks to Jeremy DeSpain for his support of me and the rest of Outpost 42 as President. Also I’m quite pleased with Louis Harvatt’s first couple of posts. No one here has improved by as much as he has. It’s hard to pick just a couple of people whose writing has been great this month...but I’ll spotlight Dave Shotton and Lindsay Bayes. Linds has continued her CMO’s intense emotional backstory, and she always does a beautiful job with that kind of writing. And one promotion to report as Melissa Aragon’s science JO character has been promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade as a way to recognize the great job overall that Melissa has done since joining the Outpost.

Ship Status: The ship is doing well and had many interesting side sims going on. ALthough we lost David Eads as GM, we have gained Matt Kleinmann as a new GM. We look forward to where he is going to take us. We also welcomed two new crew members this month: Emma Burrus and Louis Harvatt. I know they will be a great edition tot he STF family.

Spotlight: My spotlight this month goes to Dave Shotton for the wonderful side sims he has created this month. From his tropical vacation to his flying lessons, it has been a pleasure and treat to read his writing.

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm's Comments: FComm: No Gamemaster report as Dave left and Matthew wasn't on the roster in August. I still haven't gotten Emma on the roster yet, but she's on her way I believe. The events of August never really prevented the Outpost from being a great place to role play and the outlook for the Outpost is good.

AFComm: The outpost still continues to impress with the character development and role play that is going on. The loss of the GM has slowed main sim things obviously but this hasn't taken away from the experience of players with a new GM things will be even better next month. Way to go OP 42!

USS Athena

Commanding Officer: Lindsay Bayes

Crew Posting Level: 5
Senior Staff Posting Level: 5
Overall Ship Health: 6

Ship Status: A decent month for the ship in terms of posting. We had some LOAs and though we lost one crew member we've gained three in the last couple of months. The sim is moving along and I'm just regrouping slightly to move towards the climax of the action. I'm happy with where we are at right now as everything is slowly coming together. I'll be stepping down at the end of the sim as GM and we have a GMT who will take over and let me get back to being a CO.

Sim: The away team continues to look for the missing CSO and are being aided by their Consortium guides who are in the dark about some rather odd goings-on. Elsewhere, Madison seems to be subject of a rather gruesome experiment and it remains o be seen if he will come out of it alive and if his crew mates will find him. On the ship, the tour with their Consortium Captain went well and they showed him the marvels of the holodeck. Things were interrupted by the news of the missing CSO grouped with the encroaching nebula and the sudden departure of a ship from the asteroid base. Does it pose a threat? Is it a decoy? It's anyone's guess at the moment but time is of the essence as the away team has been given a time limit to retrieve Madison or else they'll be forced to leave him behind.

Spotlight: This month the spotlight goes to Janice for her extraordinary creepy experiment scene where her CSO seems to be becoming a host for some sort of creature. I can't wait to see how she plays out the aftermath!

Executive Officer: Jeremy DeSpain

Crew Posting Level: 8
Senior Staff Posting Level: 6
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: Overall we are doing well. The command staff have been a little lax myself as a primary culprit.

Spotlight: The entire lower decks and dh team for carrying on even when the XO spaced.

Specifically Luke Hung thank you for commandeering the bridge thread when I dropped the ball there.

----------------------------------------

Gamemaster: No report submitted

----------------------------------------

FComm's Comments: FComm: Linds is both the CO and GM, so no separate GM report. The Athena is doing very well right now as far as I can tell.

AFComm: Always fun to read the Athena and with things coming to a close the popcorn is at the ready! I look forward to seeing where the ship goes under a new GM and a new Sim in the coming months.

USS Atlantis

Commanding Officer: Kate O'Neill

Crew Posting Level: 9
Senior Staff Posting Level: 9
Overall Ship Health: 10

Ship Status: THe ship continues to run itself with many great side sims and adventures. This ship has something for everyone. We are at the start of a new sim by our very own Tribble that should be filled with fun, angst, adventure, and drama. So buckle your seat belts and Mr. Tribble...Warp factor 9!

Spotlight: My spotlight goes to Cale for the amazing character of Alexxander Ryley. His character is great with the one liners and an amazing doctor. I have enjoyed reading every thread with that character. Great job Cale and go get a uniform on that CMO.

----------------------------------------

Executive Officer: Lindsay Bayes

Crew Posting Level: 5
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: We're settling in quite nicely with our new CO, Kate and we've had some new people join the crew so overall posting is up from that alone. But there is a renewed focus and energy on my part and I'm hoping to move us towards a conclusion on the mysterious side sim that Marcelo and I started. The main sim is moving slow currently but Russ assures us things will be moving along soon. We are dealing with some AWOLs and I am hoping those will be dealt with soon. There are some LOAs as well, but that hasn't stopped the ship from doing its things and keep on moving.

Spotlight: Kudos to our new Captain for jumping in and getting to know the crew in some rather interesting and comical ways. It's definitely adding to the richness that is the Atlantis.

----------------------------------------

Gamemaster: Russell Watt

Crew Posting Level: 8
Senior Staff Posting Level: 5
Overall Ship Health: 7

Sim Overview: Due to me as GM not posting as I should, the sim is slower than it should be.

The crew are going well with their posting.

We are finally at the point when the real mission is beginning, and it has started with an explosion ...

Spotlight: Kate and David for their barfight against Nausicaans.

Lindsay for being incredibly patient with me

----------------------------------------

FComm's Comments: FComm: Russ has been spotty as GM, but he's still hanging in there. The ship seems to be doing quite well though as is the new captain.

AFComm: Great crew interactions all round in the Atlantis this month and I'm excited to see where the sim will go. Hopefully Russ will be back up and running soon and the drama of the ship will continue. Again popcorn at the ready.

USS Dresden

Commanding Officer: Jerome Davis

Crew Posting Level: 5
Senior Staff Posting Level: 6
Overall Ship Health: 5

Ship Status: With the extended absence of our GM along with the resignation of both the XO and CSO and the Presidential Ban of our CMO, August has been a rather rough month on the Dresden. However, discussions are underway to resolve those issues and move forward. In the mean time, we are running a Promotion Party side-sim and I'm hoping to see more get involved.

----------------------------------------

Executive Officer: No report submitted

----------------------------------------

Gamemaster: No report submitted

----------------------------------------

FComm's Comments: FComm: With a few days left in August I noticed just how dire the Dresden's situation had become. After doing quite solid early in the month, the ship took a turn for the worse as the XO and GM vanished at the same along with others of the crew. I've been working with Jerome and have hopes we can improve the ship's health. Appointing Louis as XO in early September I think can help the ship greatly. Still, I remain very concerned about this ship and am keeping a very close eye on it. Thanks to Janice and Tyra for keeping going when activity was dwindling.

AFComm: This certainly took a concerning turn for the Dresden this month and were at an all time low but as September started it looks like interventions in place and the injection of some new crew will help improve on this dramatically. We are working closely with Jerome to continue this improvement and will re-evaluate next month hopefully to see it back to a strong healthy team status.
________________________________________

FComm's Overall Comments: FComm: Issues related to Outpost 42 took all of my STF attention for a stretch there. After things there settled and got resolved the health of the Dresden became my highest priority. At the moment there's four ships in pretty great shape. The last ship is the Dresden, which right now is at least showing some signs of heading the right direction since it bottomed out when the entire crew was flirting with being AWOL in early September. The Dresden will continue to be my priority for now.

AFComm: On the whole a good month for the pioneer fleet. Some GM concerns in a few places that are being dealt with and a small number of AWOls again on the radar. The month has some ups and downs for all the ships but generally they leave August relatively strong and healthy and those that didn't fall into this category are working well towards achieving it next month. Despite some drama and other issues the pioneer fleet is a great team and everyone really has pulled together to make things work. Hats off to everyone involved.

Golden Gleeman: David Shotton

Starship Trooper: Louis Harvatt
Magical Marionettist: Lindsay Bayes
